FAQ's

What about the Do-It-Yourself kits available at home improvement and paint stores? Can I do it myself?
Yes you can do it yourself, however many of these applications fail due to a variety of reasons. These materials are often the lowest priced products available, and unfortunately you get what you pay for. The cost of these materials not overly expensive, but the cost of removal can be, both expensive and time consuming. Surface preparation is paramount if the application is expected to last, and requires specialized equipment that is often cost prohibitive to either purchase or rent. There are also specific skills required to achieve professional results during the application process.

This stuff looks great on a garage floor when it’s new, but how durable is it?
Professional installations use the same industrial quality/commercial grade products applied in restaurant kitchens, coin-op laundry rooms, employee restrooms, shipping docks, etc, but with a dazzling array of colors and textures that are suitable for luxury homes. The manufacturer’s warranties vary, but with proper care, most products will easily last ten to fifteen years.

I read somewhere about high moisture being a problem. I don’t have any water on my concrete, so what’s the problem?
It’s the water you don’t see that’s the problem. Concrete wicks moisture from the ground, and in the northwest, there certainly is no shortage of ground water. Because every product has a different tolerance to moisture vapor emissions, testing is essential to insure that the appropriate product is selected for each application. Failure to perform this step frequently leads to a “de-laminated” or failed coating.

What happens if something gets spilled on the floor or a car leaks on it?
General maintenance is much easier than on bare concrete because the entire surface is sealed with a coating that, in most cases, is highly resistant to chemicals, including automotive fluids and household cleaners. In fact most spills can be cleaned up with a rag or paper towel.

Doesn’t it make a huge, dusty mess during the installation?
No. Professional surface preparation equipment is connected to evacuation systems that leave behind little or no airborne particulates.

What do I do with all the stuff in my garage while the work is being done?
With the majority of installations taking as little as two days, your storage/work area is generally returned to service with a minimum of disruption. Short-term storage solutions are readily available if needed. Concrete floors are often coated with granite like paint-flake systems (which look fantastic) or single color coatings. We have a myriad of color selections and chip size to choose from, to personalize your garage.

How long does it take to install an epoxy floor coating?
Our epoxy base coat with polyurea top coat is a two day process. On the second day after the top coat is applied, you can walking on the finished floor coating within two hours and drive on within 48 – 72 hours.

Are your installers insured?
Yes. All Ways Organized is licensed, bonded and insured in both Oregon and Washington.

Thanks for the racks and pleasant service! You were so prompt, so pleasant to work with, and so proficient. Your racks have made such a huge difference in our garage, as we were able to move a lot of storage up off of our garage floor. They are nice to look at, sturdy, easy to access, and so beneficial to have. We would say to everyone, if you're thinking about getting racks, or even if you're not, do it, you'll be glad you did - and when you do, we would highly recommend All Ways-Organized.
